Two Golds at Women's Henley

Fae Atkinson was in a WJ16 quad with 2 people from Warrington and one from Mersey, Annie was in another composite quad with 2 from Warrington and Harriet from Agecroft. Both crews blew their opposition away in the first round and both knew that they had to work hard against their opposition in the next round. Unfortunately for Annie and Harriet, they came up against the eventual winners in the quarter finals first thing Sunday morning and then Fae was up against them in the semi Finals. So neither crews got to the final but they put up a great fight and Annie's crew showing amazing determination considering they were all J15, so next year watch this space.

Rosa rowed really well as only a true champion can. She knew the opposition well as they have all been together at the GB trials. The trouble with being at the top everybody wants to beat you and this weekend was no different. We knew that Rosa's opposition would go out fast and hard, this is how Rosa rows so they knew they would have to try the same tactics. Rosa was 1 step further than that though and showed from the word go they were not going to catch her and at 500m to go she kicked again and showed her true form winning by 2½ lengths and equalling the course record.

Lucy was rowing in a WJ18 double with Katie from Nottingham and Ciara was racing with Emily from Warrington. Ciara and Emily got knocked out in the semi Finals and then their opposition went on to race Lucy and Katie in the Final. Lucy rowed her socks off winning by 2½ lengths missing out on the course record by 1 second.

So for Runcorn for the first time ever we have won two Golds at Woman's Henley.
